The Mayan Code: Time acceleration and awakening the world mind, by Barbara Hand Clow.
978-159143-0-704 [Order]
A solid account of how the Mayan calendar is able to predict the shift in 2012 (although the author makes the case that the peak of the shift occurs in October, 2011, rather than 2012.) Great discussion of the central importance of Earth’s relationship to the galactic Center. Reader-friendly and accessible through most of the book, but the last third of the chapters tend to be complicated, theoretical, and highly speculative.
Fractal Time: The secret of 2012 and a New World Age, by Gregg Braden
978-1-4019-2065-4 [Order]
Gregg Braden, one of the best thinkers about 2012, makes a persuasive case that time is not linear, but moves in spiraling, repetitive waves. This ancient secret, encoded in the Torah and in many native prophecies, points to 2012 as the end of one important cycle and helps us make sense of the dramatic changes underway. The early parts of the book are heavy going, and the explanation underlying the cycles of time is a bit murky, but this book will give you an important perspective on 2012.
The Book of Destiny: Unlocking the secrets of the ancient Mayans and the prophecy of 2012, by Carlos Barrios.
978-0-06-157414-6 [Order]
Use this book to introduce yourself to the Mayans. Written by an author with direct access to the Mayan elders, this book gives a complete account of Mayan history, including quite interesting information on Atlantis and the origins of the Mayans. A comprehensive, well-balanced look at an amazing civilization whose deepest truths have yet to be revealed to the modern world.
The Gaia Project 2012, by Hwee-Yong Jang
978-0-7387-1042-6 [Order]
When you’re reading a book in 2010 that predicted the end of the world in 2009, it’s hard to know how to evaluate the validity of the content. But Hwee-Yong Jang’s book on 2012 contains some provocative information on why the earth’s transformation is part of plan to benefit the entire galaxy. Many channeled sources refer to the special role of the earth in demonstrating the power of love (since earth has overcome formidable obstacles to rediscover its spiritual roots) and serving as a model for other planets. The Gaia Project outlines a 10 billion year plan that culminates in 2012.
2012: Science or Superstition, by Alexandra Bruce
978-1-934708-28-6 [Order]
This book on 2012 is a comprehensive, but scattered, overview of 2012. I recommend that you not read this book; instead, use it to look for specific pieces of information related to 2012. For example, the book offers a good overview of geomagnetic and solar shifts now tracked by science. Or, you might want some quick insights into how other ancient civilizations, other than the Mayans, handled predictions about the future. But the book will not yield the deeper information you need to understand 2012.
Toward 2012: Perspectives on the Next Age, edited by Daniel Pinchbeck
978-1-58542-700-1 [Order]
Contrary to the title, this book is not quite focused on 2012. Rather, the book offers a series of observations on societal and political change from a group of authors who may or may not subscribe to the spiritual implications of 2012. The articles are a bit heady and theoretical, but do give the reader a good overview of how the planetary Shift is affecting our political, social, and economic lives. If you’re interested in knowing more about how global systems will disintegrate and transform in the years to come, this book will interest you.
The Mystery of 2012: Predictions, prophecies, and possibilities, edited by Tami Simon
978-1-59179-674-9 [Order]
This book, with articles by 28 leading thinkers, will give you a comprehensive, in-depth understanding of 2012. The book covers the planetary Shift from every point of view, with particularly excellent pieces on the Mayans by John Major Jenkins, the physics of the shift by Ervin Laszlo, and the meaning of the galactic connection by Christine Page. For an introduction to the Shift, I highly recommend this book.
2012: You have a choice, by Sri Ram Kaa & Kira Raa
0-9749872-1-2 [Order]
Using channeled wisdom from an Archangel, this book describes the journey of the soul and its union with others—always good information—along with how 2012 impacts each of us in our journey. It’s a gentle, inspiring story of two people who have committed themselves to helping the planet ascend to the next level of consciousness. A good book to read if you want to understand how 2012 may affect you and your relationships.
2013: Raising the Earth to the Next Vibration, by Richard Grossinger
ISBN 978 1556438783 [Order]
I would read the Introduction—the first 50 pages of this book, and skim the rest to find sections that appeal. The Introduction is a wise account of the forces that take Earth through 2012 and beyond. The message that Earth will continue beyond 2012, and that 2012 may not even be obvious to us, is instructive. Grossinger emphasizes an essential point about 2012: The date represents a critical point of passage into the next level of consciousness, but the process of evolution will unfold over time and through many decades. There may not be a sharp demarcation between past and future, but simply a more swiftly flowing current of change. As a note: the remainder of the book is interesting, but sprawls and muses. It will bog you down unless you find the author’s wanderings to be particularly appealing to you.
The Great Shift: Co-creating a new world for 2012 and beyond, edited by Martine Vallee
ISBN 978157863476 [Order]
This is a collection of channeled material about 2012 from three very good sources: The Kryon Material; Tom Kenyon and the Hathors & Mary Magdalen; and the High Council of Sirius, channeled by Patricia Cori. All three sources provide informative, inspirational, and grounded messages about the planetary Shift. The Kryon material offers a good glimpse of planetary energy forces and how they affect Earth’s evolution. The Hathors are straightforward, readable, and wise; they seem particularly familiar with Earth’s ways and affairs. The messages from the High Council of Sirius come from an extraordinarily old race with the deepest possible roots in Earth’s history. The fourth source, Mary Magdalen, offers insights on feminine energy, the goddess forces, and the role and personality of Jesus. A book that is very nicely edited and presented.
